Past
I think of you but not the way you think I do
I often dream of you but not in the way you think I do
I look at you but not the way you see me look at you
When you’re away I miss you and sometimes that turns the day blue
I still think of her but not the way you imagine in your head
There’s a reoccurring dream that passes through restless nights that I dread
A place in time lived long ago in another land
Sits fresh in your mind obscuring the day at hand
Like a cancer it eats away other memories to make room
Clouding your mind from the way you feel until there is only doom
Consumed with only condemned moments of a past
Cripples the sails of this great mast
I think of you the way I always have from the start
Looking beyond your faults loving you with all my heart
