Lying Awake

Just another late night lying awake being way to deep

My thoughts haunting me miles away from much needed sleep

Wishing that she knew the way she makes me feel

My heart is here for her to steal

I know just what I would say

But when I see her face the thoughts all go away

I see her walking with her friends

She is dressed in all the latest trends

Her Blue eyes melts away my courage

Not being able to say all the words that I had in storage

She has my aching heart in her soft hands

But only a passing hello is where we stand

I randomly strum my guitar hitting notes sweet and sour

Looking for the right sound at this late hour

Everyone is asleep dreaming of the things trapped inside their heads

I lay back resting my head on the bed

With a deep sigh that deflates my soul

I think about things that can fill the hole

If she saw me hit by a car would she run to my aid?

Is it then she would confess her undying love that has never been said?

Her Blue eyes melts away my courage

Not being able to say all the words that I had in storage

She has my aching heart in her soft hands

But only a passing hello is where we stand

It’s in the hall I see her pass with her friends

Walking by laughing and says hi, but that’s where we end

Do I have what it takes to make her happy?

Would being with her be good therapy?

Late at night lying in bed

She is the one keeping me awake running through my head
